Homeschool Hybrid FAQs

What is a homeschool hybrid program?

Our hybrid program combines the flexibility of homeschooling with the structure and community of in-person enrichment classes. Students attend 1–3 days per week and engage in project-based learning, group activities, and hands-on exploration.

What curriculum or approach do you use?

We use a creative, theme-based approach rooted in child-led exploration, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), and social-emotional development. We support a wide range of homeschool styles and learning needs.

What days and times are hybrid classes held?

Our classes run Tuesday through Thursday, 9 AM to 1 PM. Families can choose 1-day, 2-day, or 3-day enrollment options.

Are you a certified school or an enrichment center?Do you have a question?

Lume is an enrichment center — not a licensed school. Our educators however will be certified educators in the state of Idaho. We complement home education by providing social, emotional, and academic experiences in a community setting.

Can I use homeschool charter funds to pay?

We are currently partnering with HomeEd 360 and Braintree. Up to $1,900 per student can be taken directly from these programs and save you money out of pocket!

What is the student-to-teacher ratio?

We aim for small class sizes, typically no more than 12 students per teacher, to ensure personalized attention and a calm, engaging environment.

Do parents need to stay on-site during class?Do you have a question?

Nope! Our drop-off model allows parents to enjoy a break while their children are learning and playing in a safe, structured environment.

What subjects or themes are covered?

Themes change monthly and may include nature, community, science, storytelling, and the arts — all designed to spark creativity and joy.

What happens if we miss a day?

We understand life happens! While we do not offer make-up classes, we encourage families to attend events or open play as an alternative way to stay engaged.

Preschool FAQ

What is the daily schedule for preschool?

Our preschool runs Tuesday through Thursday or two day option Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9AM-1PM for ages 4 and 5 and Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-11AM for ages 2-4. Each day includes free play, circle time, structured learning activities, snack, music/movement, and outdoor time.

What is your educational philosophy for this age group?

We believe in learning through play, hands-on experiences, and nurturing relationships. Our preschool program is designed to support whole-child development in a joyful, responsive environment.

Is potty training required?

We ask that preschoolers be working toward potty independence. We're happy to support children who are still learning with patience and care.

What are your drop-off and pick-up procedures?

Caregivers will walk their child in and check them in at drop-off. At pick-up, a photo ID may be required if someone other than the primary caregiver is picking up.

Do you provide snacks or meals?

Families should send a nut-free snack and water bottle each day. We do not currently provide meals.

Can I tour the facility before enrolling?

Absolutely! Contact us to schedule a tour — we’d love to meet you and your child.

PlayPlace FAQs

Do I need to reserve a time or can I drop in?

You’re welcome to drop in anytime during open hours! Reservations are only required for parties or special events.

Are adults charged for entry?

Admission includes entry for up to two caregivers per family. Additional adults are welcome for a $5 fee each.

What age range is the PlayPlace best for?

The space is designed for children ages 0–7, but older siblings are welcome to join if they play respectfully.

Is the play area cleaned regularly?

Yes! We clean and sanitize the PlayPlace throughout the day and perform deep cleaning regularly to keep our space safe and healthy.
We use hypochlorous acid (HOCl) — a powerful yet non-toxic disinfectant that’s safe for kids and the environment. HOCl is naturally produced by our own white blood cells to fight germs, and it's gentle enough to use around babies and toys. If you see us spraying surfaces during your visit, rest assured it’s completely safe — no harsh chemicals, no residue, just clean and healthy play.

Can I bring outside food or drinks?

You’re welcome to bring in water and milk and other snacks for babies. All other patrons will have the option to purchase food and drink from our concessions.

Do you host birthday parties or private events?

Yes! Our party rentals include PlayPlace time, a party room, and optional add-ons. Learn more on our Party Rentals page.
